There is so much to love about the Box of Doom Basic series isolation box. The construction is world-class. The functionality is as good as it gets. Each component is top quality, including the moveable rails and connections for two mics. It enables you to move the mics until you find that best sound in a predictable controlled environment, which secures the mics in place for future recording and live performances. This company cares about providing the best products available, and promptly reply to inquiries with a friendly tone. You cannot find a better product anywhere in the world.

Probably the best ISOcab ever tried ! I was so disapointed by others .. I saw those boxes on Matt Heafy's Twitch channel and I WANTED TO TRY IT. I'm using it for 2 months and this iso cab is a killer. The sound is perfect (not boom at all) and the size perfect. My only question, on the basic one, is concerning the HP replacement but this feature is available on the pro one !

This Basic Box of Doom has solved the boxy/hollow sound that happens with all other isolation Cabinets. I have owned 3 in the past. The Dead Room ($1000 but discontinued), The Randall iso cab ($540) and And the Rivera Silent Sister ($1100 This one claims to be able to solve the boxy hollow sound but it does not).

I chose the Basic version of the BoD after speaking to customer support and found out that the Basic version has the same inside dimensions as the standard (Pro version). Also has the pressure vent on the bottom like the standard. And I only need 1 microphone at a time for now. I can always add a smal mic stand in there if I want to use 2 microphones. There is plenty of space inside. The only real difference is the DBs that the standard version lowers over the Basic because or the flight case. But the Basic does the job perfectly I can crank my 5150 and still hear my guitar string being picked over the sound coming from the Basic BoD.

I decided to give the BoD a try because I saw In Flames and Matt from Trivium use them. I ordered my Basic BoD and asked them to add casters/wheels and they did with no issue. I received my order in about 4 days to the USA. Very fast shipping. So I set up my 5150 with an SM57 on the V30 in the BoD and got ready to do a test recording. I was skeptical all the way up to the second I started playing and heard the sound coming out of my monitors. This sound had ZERO boxy or hollow sound. It was as if I had my marshall 4x12 cab mic'ed up. I am seriously amazed. They have SOLVED the problem with isolation cabinets. If you are on the fence about buying a BoD. DO IT! You will not regret it. Best gear purchase in a while!
